Facebook and Instagram are where attention in this market sits outside working hours. Meta Ads work when the offer, the creative, the audience and the speed of your follow-up line up. Miss any one of the four and the budget disappears quietly.
Boosting a post is not advertising
Most business owners who tell us Facebook ads did not work for them were boosting posts. Those are different products with different results.
Boosting optimises for engagement, which is the thing that looks like success and buys nothing. It gives you almost no control over audience, placement, or objective, and no way to attribute a sale. Proper campaign setup in Ads Manager lets you optimise for an actual outcome, test creative against creative, exclude people who already bought, and see the cost of each result.
If boosting is your only experience of Meta advertising, you have not tested the channel yet.
Where your UAE audience actually is
Platform choice should follow your customer, not your own habits. The latest reported advertising reach figures for the UAE give a useful starting map. In late 2025, reach among adults aged 18 and over stood at 12.5 million on TikTok, 10.0 million registered members on LinkedIn, 9.70 million on Facebook, 8.37 million on YouTube, 8.05 million on Instagram and 5.13 million on Snapchat (DataReportal, Digital 2026).
Two cautions before anyone builds a strategy on those numbers. They are reach figures reported by the platforms, not monthly active users, so they are not strictly comparable between platforms. And reach is not relevance. A dental clinic in Al Nahda does not care about national reach, it cares about the few thousand people within driving distance who are likely to book. Audience size sets the ceiling. Targeting and creative decide what you actually get.
What we run
Click to WhatsApp campaigns
Often the highest-performing campaign type for a UAE service business, because it matches how people here prefer to start a conversation. The ad opens a WhatsApp chat rather than a form, which removes the step where most enquiries are lost. It also shifts the burden onto your response time, so we will be direct with you: if nobody answers WhatsApp within the hour, this campaign type will underperform regardless of how good the ads are.
Lead campaigns
Instant forms inside Facebook and Instagram, or traffic sent to a dedicated landing page. Forms convert at a higher rate and produce more unqualified enquiries. Landing pages convert at a lower rate and produce better leads. Which is correct depends on whether your constraint is lead volume or your team’s time, and we decide that with you rather than defaulting.
Sales and catalogue campaigns
For online stores: catalogue setup, dynamic product ads, and campaigns optimised for purchases rather than for traffic. Product feed quality determines performance here more than audience settings do, which is why feed work is part of the setup rather than an afterthought.
Retargeting
People who visited your site, watched a video, engaged with a post or started a checkout and left. Normally the cheapest conversions in the account, and the first thing we switch on once the pixel has gathered enough data.
Creative is the targeting now
Meta’s audience tools have narrowed over the years while its delivery algorithm has got better at finding buyers on its own. The practical consequence is that creative does most of the targeting work. The ad itself decides who stops scrolling.
So we test creative properly: several angles against each other, not several colours of the same angle. A price-led angle against a problem-led angle against a proof-led angle. Static against video. Short captions against long. Then we scale the winner and retire the loser before fatigue sets in, which in a market this small happens faster than most people expect, because you exhaust your audience sooner.
This is also the reason original photography and video outperform stock here so consistently. Your actual premises, staff and products are the one creative asset a competitor cannot copy.
What proper tracking looks like
The Meta Pixel installed and verified, standard and custom events defined for the actions that matter to you, the Conversions API where server-side tracking is worth the setup, and a domain verified in Business Manager. Your Meta Business account and ad account are created in your name, with us added as partners.
Expect some gap between what Meta reports and what your own records show. Privacy changes across devices and browsers mean platform-reported numbers are modelled rather than counted. We reconcile Meta’s figures against your actual enquiries and sales each month and report the honest number, not the flattering one.
Frequently asked questions
Enough for the campaign to exit the learning phase and gather conversion data, which depends on your cost per result. Spreading a small budget across several campaigns and audiences is the most common way a Meta budget gets wasted. One well-structured campaign at a sensible daily budget beats five underfunded ones, and your plan will state the figure in AED.
Boosting optimises for engagement, not enquiries or sales, and gives you little control over audience, placement or objective. It is a different product from a properly structured campaign in Ads Manager. Most businesses that conclude Meta does not work for them have only ever tested boosting.
They tend to perform well here because WhatsApp is the normal way to start a business conversation, and the ad removes the form step entirely. Performance depends heavily on response time. Enquiries answered within minutes convert at a far higher rate than ones answered the next morning.
Yes. Both are strong fits, because the decision is visual and local. For restaurants the work centres on food photography, offer structure and tight radius targeting. For clinics it centres on trust signals, treatment-specific campaigns, and advertising rules on health claims and before-and-after imagery, which need checking per treatment.
The UAE Media Council requires an advertiser permit for publishing advertising content online, and for citizens and residents this also requires a valid electronic media trade licence (as reported by Gulf News, updated August 2025). The rules focus on creators and influencers publishing paid promotion. If you are planning influencer collaborations, confirm the permit status of each creator before money changes hands, and check your own position with the Council or your legal advisor.
Delivery begins immediately, but the first week or two is a learning period while the algorithm finds who converts. Judge results from the third or fourth week. Changing budgets, audiences or creative every few days restarts the learning phase and is the fastest way to prevent a campaign ever stabilising.
